Applications

Due to its excellent thermal conductivity and high strength (much higher than Aluminum Oxide Al2O3), Black Silicon Carbide is excellent for use in a wide array of high-temperature applications.

  • Refractories: Used in the manufacture of refractories, kiln furniture, bricks, electric heating elements, and high-performance automobile braking systems.
  • Metal Foundries: Used as a metallurgical additive and to create other special refractory shapes and crucibles.
